Kanpur: A total of 2,20,651 Form-6 applications were received between Oct 27, 2025 and Feb 5, 2026, showing active participation of people in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral list, said district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh at a meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium on Friday.Updating the representatives of the political parties on the status of the SIR, the DM said that after publication of the draft voter list, a special campaign was conducted from Jan 7 to Feb 6 to enrol all eligible youths in the voter list. During this period, 1,05,721 Form-6 applications were received. According to assembly constituency-wise data, Maharajpur received 17,541, Kanpur Cantt 13,745, Kidwai Nagar 12,415, Kalyanpur 13,019, Bilhaur 9,862, Bithoor 7,932, Govind Nagar 9,218, Sisamau 7,119 and Ghatampur received 8,196 new applications.Youth who will be 18 years of age by Oct 1, 2026 can apply for enrolment through Voter Helpline App and at VRC centres, said the DM. The DM said that enrolling eligible voters in the list is a continuous process. Information about Form-7 and Form-8 was also shared with the political party representatives. The DM stated that complete details of Form-6, Form-7 and Form-8 remain available on the District Election Officer’s portal which can be viewed easily. It was also clarified that the objector’s signature is mandatory on Form-7 and they should be a resident of the same assembly constituency and must enter their EPIC number on the form.The meeting also discussed the hearing process related to SIR.
