Noida: Greater Noida Authority has launched a beautification drive at Pari Chowk, Greater Noida’s most iconic landmark, following complaints from residents about its deteriorating condition. The move came after locals shared videos and photos on WhatsApp groups and social media platforms highlighting poor maintenance.Officer on special duty (OSD) Gunja Singh visited the site with her team on Saturday and launched the makeover project. “We have started repairing and cleaning the fairy sculptures. The central fountain is being restored. Trees around the chowk are being pruned, and the green belts in the area are being cleaned,” she said.Singh added that new grass is being planted at the roundabout, and new lights are being installed to ensure the area remains well-lit and visually appealing, especially at night. The beautification and maintenance work is likely to be completed within a month.Pari Chowk connects Noida Expressway to Surajpur–Kasna Road and serves as the main entry point to Greater Noida. Pari Chowk is also considered an important landmark in Greater Noida due to its strategic location and proximity to several key areas and institutions. There are high-rises and residential sectors in this vicinity as well. It is our collective responsibility to maintain this landmark,” Alok Singh, a resident of Sector Alpha 1, said. “If this is called Pari Chowk, it should look like it,” he said.Pari Chowk was developed in 1991.
