Patna: The National Institute of Technology-Patna (NIT-P) inked an MoU with the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Bhagalpur here on Thursday, marking a significant step towards strengthening academic cooperation and research partnerships between the two premier institutions.The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials and faculty members from both the institutes headed by NIT-P director P K Jain and IIIT-Bhagalpur director Madhusudan Singh. The MoU aims to promote collaborative academic programmes, joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange and the organisation of workshops, seminars, and short-term courses.
Speaking on the occasion, Jain said that as per the terms of agreement, both the institutions will explore opportunities for joint supervision of postgraduate and PhD scholars, resource sharing of laboratories and libraries, technology transfer activities and capacity-building programmes. The collaboration would also encourage internships, visiting student programmes and research-driven innovation to enhance learning outcomes and institutional excellence.“This MoU reflects the shared vision of NIT-P and IIIT-Bhagalpur to foster interdisciplinary research, strengthen academic linkages and contribute to the advancement of higher education and technological development in the country,” Singh said.
