Jaipur: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tikaram Jully Sunday accused the BJP govt of transforming the transport department into a means for extortion. He said the govt turned the transport department into a ‘transfer of money to BJP’ department.Jully said that the road accident in Dausa was not merely accidental but a severe consequence of the BJP govt’s extortion system. “The news of the death of three women and one man in a road accident near the Dausa Collectorate intersection is extremely sad and painful. The extortion resulting from the collusion between the govt and the transport department in the state has now become deadly for the common people,” Jully said.“In every district of Rajasthan, on highways, at turns, and near bridges, the rule of ‘Stop trucks, take money, and let it pass’ has been established. It seems that in Rajasthan, highways have become BJP’s extortion zones, and innocent citizens are losing their lives in these zones,” he added.Jully stressed that a corrupt system and the BJP govt’s extortion mechanism ended four innocent lives. “While traveling in Rajasthan, there is now a fear of when and where a ‘flying squad’ might suddenly stop trucks and when an accident might occur. The flying squads of the transport department have wreaked havoc in the state,” he added.
