Bokaro: Around a week after an illegal arms factory operating from a banquet at Bermo was busted in a joint operation by the Kolkata STF, the Ranchi ATS, and the local police and two illegal arms manufacturing workers were arrested on June 19, two key accused were arrested from the Gandhinagar police station limits on Saturday. The arrests exposed a criminal network with links to Munger in Bihar. Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh said, “Based on revelations made by Praveen Kumar of Munger and Keshav Kumar of Khagaria, who were arrested from the marriage hall located at Jaridih Upper Bazaar under Gandhinagar police station limits on June 19, we nabbed marriage hall owner and mastermind Suraj Kumar Sao (36) and Suraj Prajapati (31), a history-sheeter in an illegal liquor peddling case in Munger.” SP said, “During interrogation, accused Prajapati and Sao named several other members of the gang. Raids are on to track them down and arrest them.” A cache of country-made weapons, beer cans, fake liquor bottle caps, and fake liquor bottle stickers were seized during raid, police said.
