T’puram: Vattiyoorkavu police registered a case against BJP councillor R Sugathan following a complaint by Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth that Sugathan obstructed him during a public function in Vazhottukonam on Tuesday. The incident occurred during the inauguration of a newly constructed Mahila Mandir.According to police, they registered the case after the MLA filed a complaint alleging that the councillor blocked his car and disrupted the programme. Police action came after Sugathan protested that Prasanth was not officially invited and that the function was conducted without formal notice to corporation authorities. The dispute stems from ongoing tensions between Prasanth and local BJP representatives over his use of office space in Thiruvananthapuram corporation building in Sasthamangalam.
