New Delhi: Two brothers have been arrested for stabbing a man to death over a minor dispute involving a mobile phone in central Delhi’s Prasad Nagar.According to police, the incident took place on June 8, when a PCR call was received at the Prasad Nagar police station reporting a stabbing near Tikona Park. “Upon receiving the call, officers rushed to the scene and found a man with a stab wound injury. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival,” said an officer.A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of BNS. “During investigation, Roshan (22), a resident of Patel Nagar, was arrested. Upon questioning, he disclosed that his younger brother Nitish (21) was also involved in the attack,” the officer added.While Roshan was arrested shortly after the incident, Nitish managed to flee and remained absconding for nearly three weeks.“To trace the absconding accused, a police team was constituted that used local intelligence and activated a network of informants to gather leads. After days of surveillance, a tip-off was received that Nitish would be visiting his parents at Jheel Park on June 27. Acting swiftly, the team laid a trap at the location. After a brief chase, Nitish was apprehended and taken into custody,” DCP (central) Nidhin Valsan said. “During interrogation, Nitish confessed to the murder, stating that he and his brother had a heated altercation with the victim over a mobile phone dispute. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, the two brothers stabbed the man,” DCP Valsan said.Further investigation is underway.
