Balasore: A year-and-a-half-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water-filled bucket at his house in Bhalupahadi village under Rairangpur Rural police station limits in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.The deceased was the son of Shraban Giri.Sources said the toddler was playing near a well behind the house when he became curious and tried to put his hand into a large bucket filled with water kept nearby. He accidentally fell into the bucket.As no one was present nearby at the time, the child remained unnoticed for some time. Family members later rescued him and rushed him to Rairangpur sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Rairangpur Rural police station inspector-in-charge Babita Puhan said the incident occurred on Sunday when the child accidentally fell into a water-filled bucket and died. She added that no case had been registered in connection with the incident as no FIR had been lodged.
