Patna: A contractual teacher posted at a primary school in Muzaffarpur has been named in an FIR for allegedly using a forged 2011 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) marksheet to secure a govt teaching job in 2014. A Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) probe found that while the marksheet submitted during recruitment showed 90 marks, the original examination record showed only 50.The accused, Gyanti Kumari, is posted at Primary School Paigambarpur Hanuman in Minapur block. Following verification of her marksheet by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), the VIB lodged an FIR against her and unidentified persons at Siwaipatti police station.According to a complaint filed by Vigilance Inspector Diwakar Kumar Dinkar, “the verification was carried out as part of a Patna high court-directed exercise to examine the educational and professional qualifications of contractual teachers appointed between 2006 and May 18, 2015.”According to VIB sources, Kumari applied for recruitment through the Paigambarpur Gram Panchayat Niyojan Unit in 2014 and submitted a TET marksheet from the 2011 examination showing 90 marks and a qualified status. The certificate was subsequently sent to the examination board for verification. However, the BSEB’s verification report dated Dec 31, 2021, recorded only 50 marks against roll number 2318112331 and declared the candidate unsuccessful. The discrepancy between the board’s records and the marksheet submitted during recruitment formed the basis of the vigilance complaint. The complaint alleged that the marksheet was forged and used as a genuine document to obtain employment. Investigators have also raised the possibility that unidentified persons may have assisted in the alleged manipulation.Kumari was appointed as an untrained panchayat teacher in 2014 and continues to be posted at the school, according to the complaint. The FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Sub-inspector Suryaprakash Ranjan has been assigned to investigate the case. Police will examine how the alleged alteration was carried out and whether others were involved in preparing or using the disputed document.
