Kolkata: To avoid a Chorbagan-like incident, transport minister Arjun Singh has instructed Naihati’s Boro Maa temple, which attracts a huge crowd on Kali Puja, not to set up a ‘VIP’ gate. Singh, who visited the Boro Maa temple and the immersion ghat in Naihati on Sunday morning, said barricades would be set up in advance to regulate the crowd and ensure safety. “There is no possibility of a recurrence of the Chorbagan incident. We will put up barricades and there won’t be a VIP gate at Naihati’s Boro Maa Kali Puja. I will inspect the immersion arrangements. Police, NGOs and our party workers will manage the crowd,” he said.
