T’puram: Social activists, civil society representatives and citizens, under the banner of the Cockroach Janata Party and SUCI, took out a march from Museum to Lok Bhavan demanding the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.The police stopped the march at Vellayambalam by putting up barricades, preventing the protesters from proceeding further.Cockroach Janata Party’s Feroz Khan said that the protest, demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, was inaugurated by activist Gro Vasu. Many people and other civic organisations joined the movement.“We could not go near the Lok Bhavan but we staged the protest and raised slogans near the barricades,” said Khan.The organisations are planning further protests in the coming days by roping in civic society representatives.
