Mangaluru: A woman and her son died of electrocution at Palakda Varnabettu within the limits of Moodubidire police station on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Mercy Mascarenhas,47, and her son Shaun Mascarenhas,18.According to police, the incident occurred when Shaun came in contact with a live wire that had come into accidental contact with a clothesline wire, when he stepped out to dry his clothes after bath. He collapsed immediately. His mother rushed to his aid and held him, only to suffer an electric shock herself.
