Mysuru: Former minister and JD(S) working president SR Mahesh on Monday demanded a high-level inquiry into an alleged sting operation and action against those responsible, saying politics and personal life should be kept separate.Speaking to reporters, Mahesh said it was wrong to target anyone over personal matters, even if the person had made a mistake.Mahesh, a close associate of Union minister HD Kumaraswamy, also criticised home minister Priyank Kharge for saying Kumaraswamy should undergo heart surgery again, calling the remark inappropriate.Questioning Kharge’s performance, Mahesh asked why a stay had been obtained from Supreme Court in a case concerning alleged misuse of SC/ST funds. He also asked why the KPSC scam had not been investigated and why responsibility for the Chamarajanagar oxygen tragedy remained unknown.Mahesh also alleged injustice to certain communities in the reservation allocation for zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat constituencies in KR Nagar assembly segment. He expressed suspicion that the reservations, announced after many years, were intended merely to comply with court directions and pacify the public before a court stay was obtained to delay the elections as part of a larger conspiracy.
