NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday targeted the Centre over the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, accusing the government of providing gangster Lawrence Bishnoi with facilities to carry out criminal activities in India and abroad. In a post on X, Kejriwal alleged that the Centre had failed to ensure law and order and accused it of extending support to Bishnoi.“They can’t even manage law and order in their own states. They’ve made the country’s biggest gangster their son-in-law (Lawrence Bishnoi) and given him every facility to commit crimes not just in India but all over the world,” Kejriwal said.He also targeted the party over its planned visit to Punjab, alleging that its leaders would lecture the state on law and order despite their own record.
“And tomorrow these people will come to Punjab to lecture on law and order. The people of Punjab know that voting for them would be like inviting their son-in-law to Punjab,” he added. The remarks came a day after gunshots were fired at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. According to police, three to four rounds were fired as the actor was leaving a ground in his vehicle amid a large gathering of fans.Shroff escaped unhurt, but two people were injured in the incident, including his driver, Firdaus, who sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm.Autorickshaw driver Rakesh Kumar, an eyewitness, told news agency ANI that three people were involved in the incident. He said one was on a motorcycle, while the other two were positioned near the gate and further ahead.Kumar alleged that one of the attackers fired towards the seat occupied by Shroff, while another shot struck the driver’s hand. He said the incident took place around 7pm.The three accused were detained by Kota City Police at a railway station while travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express.
