Kanpur: A 50-year-old man died after a speeding SUV allegedly hit and dragged him for about 20 metres on VIP Road in Kanpur on Friday.According to police, the deceased was crossing the road when the out-of-control vehicle struck him. Eyewitnesses said the collision dragged him along the road, killing him on the spot.The identity of the deceased and other details have also not been established.The car is reportedly registered in the name of Shehnaz Parveen and is said to belong to a KDA resident of Jajmau.Police investigation is expected to determine the cause of the accident and the driver’s role.
