Buxar: A drinking water kiosk installed by Buxar Nagar Parishad near the main gate of the district collectorate has been defunct for nearly two months, inconveniencing court and Collectorate employees, visitors and local residents. The plant was installed to provide drinking water to people visiting the Collectorate and nearby court premises. Its prolonged breakdown has forced visitors to look for alternative sources.“The plant was very useful for employees and court visitors. It is unfortunate that it has remained out of order for nearly two months,” court employee K K Ojha said, urging the authorities to restore the facility at the earliest. The breakdown has also affected devotees visiting the Panchmukhi Hanuman temple opposite the kiosk. Devotees said they used water from the facility before offering prayers.“We use the water before entering the temple. Since the plant stopped functioning, we have been facing difficulties,” devotee Rajeev Kumar said.Local resident Nazima Kaleem said keeping a public utility non-functional for two months defeated its purpose and urged the Nagar Parishad to repair it without further delay.Residents and regular visitors have sought immediate restoration of the facility and regular maintenance to prevent prolonged disruptions.
