InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, will challenge an order by the Ahmedabad customs commissioner confirming a demand for additional customs duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) imports during May 2024 to August 2025.
The order, received by the airline on October 12, also imposes a fine and penalty of ₹3.5 crore, according to a regulatory filing dated October 13.
The airline said it believes it had correctly deposited the duty and that its case has merit. It will contest the order before the appropriate appellate authority and pursue legal remedies.
The company said the order would have no significant impact on its financials, operations or other activities.
