Patna: The Patna high court has quashed the cancellation of a newly recruited Bihar Armed Police (BAP)-6 constable’s appointment over non-disclosure of a juvenile case, directing authorities to reconsider his appointment. A single bench of Justice Partha Sarthy passed the order on Tuesday while allowing Rahul Kumar’s writ petition. The court held that concealment of a trivial juvenile offence should not, under a modern approach, automatically disqualify a young recruit. Rahul had been sent to a juvenile justice home and punished with planting trees on public school premises. After attaining majority, he cleared the constable recruitment test and joined BAP-6 on June 1 last year. His appointment was later cancelled over his failure to disclose the case.Court orders refund of 75% pension cut: The Patna high court has directed the state’s general administration department (GAD) to immediately refund 75% of a retired employee’s pension deducted for a decade. Justice Kumar Manish passed the order on Oct 9 while allowing Umesh Kumar Verma’s petition, calling the punishment drastic and requiring strong evidence of misconduct.Production of woman sought: The Patna high court has directed the DGPs of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to coordinate and produce a newly married woman from Madhubani on Oct 15. A division bench of Justices Rajeev Ranjan Prasad and Sunil Dutta Mishra issued the order while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by her husband, Kunal Kumar.
