Garbeta: A block medical officer of health (BMOH) was arrested on Sunday night in West Midnapore’s Garbeta for the alleged sexual harassment and assault of a nurse in his office.According to police sources, the survivor — a nurse of a local health centre — visited the BMOH office on Thursday to collect some documents when the accused, Prabir Kumar Bauri, allegedly made some romantic advances. On being rejected, Bauri allegedly assaulted her.The nurse filed a formal complaint on Sunday.Bauri was produced in court on Monday and has been remanded to two days’ judicial custody.CMOH Soumya Shankar Sarangi said multiple complaints have been lodged against Bauri earlier. A departmental inquiry has been initiated.
