Hassan: Hassan DC K S Latha Kumari on Sunday posted a cryptic WhatsApp status, a day after Union minister HD Kumaraswamy criticised her for issuing a notice to Hassan SP Shubanwita.“You can attack me with lies, but you cannot break me with lies,” her status read.Kumaraswamy had questioned the DC’s functioning and asked how the district administration could function effectively if differences emerged between the DC and SP. He also raised questions about Latha Kumari in Karnataka Public Service Commission and accused govt of protecting her.“I have spoken respectfully, so she should be careful,” Kumaraswamy told reporters in Bengaluru. He said the DC had approached chief secretary Shalini Rajaneesh with a complaint against him.“While administering a district, officials must understand their mistakes instead of acting arrogantly. I have advised her to correct herself and act appropriately. We are the ones who tweet,” he stated.JD(S) MLAs in Hassan have also criticised the DC’s functioning and staged a protest at her office. Latha Kumari has maintained that the issue is administrative and not personal.
