Chandigarh: The Haryana Cabinet on Friday passed a resolution expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years in public service as the head of govt.Moved by social justice and empowerment minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, the resolution praised Modi’s contribution to the country and Haryana. It also pledged to strengthen the state’s contribution towards his vision of Viksit Bharat-2047.Addressing reporters after the cabinet meeting, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana had moved from being among the lowest-performing states to being a leading state, attributing the progress to the PM’s vision and welfare initiatives, including Jan Dhan accounts, direct benefit transfers, housing for poor families, household toilets, tap-water connections and clean cooking fuel.Saini said Modi had visited Haryana 18 times as Prime Minister, facilitating development projects worth over Rs 86,000 crore. The state had also received over Rs 7 lakh crore through various central govt schemes, he claimed.He recalled that the PM launched the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat and the country’s first hydrogen train project from Jind. He also highlighted Haryana’s procurement of all 24 crops at the MSP.Taking aim at Congress, Saini accused the opposition of misleading young people and said the BJP’s recent municipal and bypoll victories reflected public support. He predicted further setbacks for Congress in the 2029 elections.The CM also appealed to farmers not to burn paddy stubble, warning that it pollutes the environment. He urged them to use the govt’s available stubble-management facilities instead.
