Kanpur: A 33-year-old factory worker who was injured after a speeding autorickshaw overturned at Bhauti Bypass in Kanpur died during treatment at Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital on Friday morning.According to police, the deceased, Pawan, a resident of Raruva village in the Gajner police station area, was sitting in the front seat when the vehicle lost control and overturned on Sept 29 in the Sachendi police station area.Police said Pawan was trapped beneath the autorickshaw and suffered serious injuries, while three other passengers sustained minor injuries.Passersby alerted Dial 112 and took the injured to a nearby private hospital. After receiving first aid, the three passengers were discharged, while Pawan was referred to LLR Hospital due to his critical condition.Pawan’s family alleged that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.Sachendi police station in-charge Deenanath Mishra said police had not received a written complaint from the family. He added that a case would be registered and further action taken after a complaint was received.The body was sent for postmortem examination.
