New Delhi: In view of a protest at Jantar Mantar on Oct 10 and the security restrictions expected in central Delhi, all seven district court complexes in the capital will remain functional on Saturday, with proceedings at Patiala House and Rouse Avenue courts to be conducted virtually as per directions issued by Delhi High Court.The court has directed that all civil and criminal matters listed before the two court complexes be heard through virtual mode. Judicial officers posted there who are unable to reach the court premises may also conduct proceedings online.The court further directed all district courts in Delhi not to pass adverse orders due to the non-appearance of litigants, advocates, witnesses or accused persons. Matters requiring urgent consideration may be adjourned to a short date, it said.In addition, all undertrial prisoners across Delhi’s district courts will be produced only through virtual mode on Saturday.In a separate order, the National Lok Adalat scheduled for Oct 10 across seven district court complexes has been postponed to Oct 25. The Lok Adalat was to be held at Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue courts.
