Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission issued recruitment advertisements for over 17,000 posts.
According to commission chairman Prashant Kumar, 2,047 posts have been advertised in higher education, including 111 posts of principals and 1,936 assistant professors. The examination for assistant professor recruitment is proposed to be held on Nov 19 and 20.
In secondary education, 3,504 posts are up for recruitment. These include 897 assistant teacher posts and 2,607 lecturer (PGT) posts. The examinations for assistant teachers are proposed to be held on Dec 3 and 4, while the PGT examination is scheduled for Dec 15 and 16.
The largest share is in basic education, where 11,508 assistant teacher posts for urban primary schools have been advertised. The examination for these posts is also proposed to be held on Dec 3 and 4. A Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) is also being conducted under the basic education department.
The 17,059 advertised posts account for nearly 17% of the state govt’s one lakh recruitment target, making education one of the biggest contributors to the employment drive.
