Bicholim: Bicholim residents have demanded that access to the toilets at the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus stand be kept open for commuters during night hours, saying restricting their use to daytime causes inconvenience to travellers.Local resident Anil Usapkar said toilet facilities should be available at night as well, as some commuters may be suffering from ailments or travelling with children. “It is causing severe inconvenience to women and persons with disabilities,” he said.Another resident, Sanjay Kharbe, questioned the restriction, saying, “When buses ply during night hours, why are toilet facilities restricted to daytime?”Residents have appealed to the authorities to either construct a toilet near the old bus stand or make an existing facility accessible to the public at night. They also urged the authorities to ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of the toilets so that hygienic facilities are available to the public.
