Bengaluru, Oct 5: R. Doraiswamy, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), inaugurated the All-India LIC Games 2026-27 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru on Monday.
The All-India LIC Games is an annual sports event of the Life Insurance Corporation of India and are being conducted over a period of four days. The games comprise six disciplines, namely Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball and Athletics.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by S. Girija, Executive Director (HRD & Training); Pradeep P. Shenoy, Executive Director (Corporate Communication); Lata Madampath, Executive Director (Personnel); Saravana Ramesh S., Zonal Manager, South Central Zone; and R. K. Yadav, Senior Divisional Manager, Bengaluru Division-1.
Addressing the participating sportspersons, R. Doraiswamy, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Life Insurance Corporation of India stated that sports go beyond competition and contribute significantly to character-building. He called upon the participants to approach the games with enthusiasm and in the spirit of fair play, while striving to give their best.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a march-past by the participating sportspersons. This was followed by the hoisting of the corporate flag by R. Doraiswamy, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Life Insurance Corporation of India, who thereafter formally declared the commencement of the All-India LIC Games 2026-27.
Approximately 376 sportspersons representing eight Zones of the Corporation are participating in the games.
The All-India LIC Games 2026-27 will conclude on 8th October 2026. The closing ceremony will be held in the presence of Shri R. Chander, Managing Director, Life Insurance Corporation of India, as the Chief Guest.
