NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke on Monday targeted Union Home minister Amit Shah over the ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, asking how many people the government could arrest as he claimed that the “entire country” would take to the streets on October 10.“Kitno ko arrest karoge AmitShah? 10 Oct ko poora desh aa raha hai,” Dipke wrote on X.The CJP has called on citizens to organise a gathering for what it described as the largest protest on October 10 amid the row over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.Dipke’s remarks came a day after several protesters were detained in Delhi during protests, police sources said.Around 120 people were detained in connection with Sunday’s protest, police said.Meanwhile, CJP leader Saurav Das claimed that the government was planning to arrest him, Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, Ratna Singh and other party leaders. He said such action would not suppress the youth-led movement and described any such crackdown as “dictatorial”.“The government is planning on arresting me, Abhijeet, Ashutosh, Ratna and other Cockroach Janta Party leaders. If the government thinks that such dictatorial actions will work, then they are mistakened! The young generation has awakened,” Das wrote on X.Das said CJP members were prepared to face arrest or other consequences and urged supporters to continue the agitation.“We appeal to everyone to continue fighting for our rights and future, with or without us. We have always been ready to face jail or worse. But this will be a big mistake. The young will not tolerate this,” he wrote.Calling for further mobilisation, Das urged people across the country to join the October 10 protests.“The protests must continue. People of India should ensure the biggest mobilisation starting October 10th,” he said.(With agency inputs)(With agency inputs)
