Panaji: To try and monetise a 55sqm parcel of prime land at Baga beach, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation Limited (GTDC) is on the hunt for a private player who can offer tourist support services through a public-private partnership (PPP) model.GTDC has issued an expression of interest (EOI) to plan, construct, and operate a dedicated public amenity hub which could include a tourism retail or local souvenir store, bicycle or two-wheeler services, snack counter, and tourist information services or a booking counter for activities. The govt corporation aims to leverage private investment and operational expertise to upgrade visitor-support infrastructure in one of North Goa’s busiest coastal hubs.“Through the EOI, GTDC can assess the interest and capabilities of prospective parties, understand their broad proposals and expectations, and obtain inputs for structuring and development of the proposed project,” said a GTDC official.GTDC hopes that the service can complement the existing tourism-support infrastructure at Baga, one of the district’s most visited coastal hubs. The land parcel is close to the parking lot that GTDC has also given to a private player to operate.
