Chandrapur: Two youths were killed after their motorcycle crashed into an iron barricade at a sharp bend near Akapur village on the Mul–Gadchiroli National Highway around 9pm on Thursday.The deceased were identified as Madhukar Chaudhary (32), a resident of Navegaon Chak, and Ganesh Raj Yesensures (31) of Sindewahi.As per preliminary information, the duo was travelling from Mul towards Saoli when the rider reportedly lost control while negotiating the bend. The motorcycle rammed into an iron barricade on the roadside, killing both men.The bend has witnessed serious accidents in the past. In Jan this year, a private bus overturned at the same hazardous stretch, killing one passenger and injuring several others. Residents have urged the authorities to review the barricade placement and undertake immediate safety measures at the bend.
