Noida: Several liquor brands imported from the UK, including premium Scotch whiskies, will become cheaper in the state from Oct 10 after the UP excise department cut their maximum retail prices by 5% to 15%.The reduction followed the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), under which customs duty on alcoholic beverages imported from the UK was reduced from 150% to 75%, effective July 15.District excise officer Subodh Kumar said the department has already revised prices for Diageo-owned Johnnie Walker brands and Pernod Ricard line-up, such as Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, Jameson, Absolut, among others.Under the revised list, Red Label is priced at Rs 1,740 from Rs 1,910 for 750-ml, Rs 910 from Rs 990 for 375-ml and Rs 490 from Rs 530 for 200-ml. Gold Label Reserve 750-ml is at Rs 4,600 from Rs 5,090, Blue Label 750-ml at Rs 14,460 from Rs 15,400, Black Label 750-ml at Rs 2,830 from Rs 3,080 and Blonde 200-ml at Rs 530 from Rs 600.Chivas Regal 18-year-old 750-ml is now Rs 4,910 from Rs 5,600, while its 200-ml pack is at Rs 760 from Rs 840 and the 50-ml at Rs 240 from Rs 260. The 25-year-old 700-ml is priced at Rs 14,780 from Rs 18,070.Royal Salute 700-ml is at Rs 9,320 from Rs 11,420. Glenlivet 700-ml is at Rs 3,300 from Rs 3,710 for the 12-year-old, Rs 4,340 from Rs 5,090 for the 15-year-old and Rs 5,590 from Rs 6,800 for the 18-year-old.Noida has 224 composite shops, 46 model shops and 52 premium liquor vends, and all of them sell UK liquor. The excise department has informed shop owners about the revised rates and their implementation.Kumar said new bottles will bear a CETA marking to ensure they are sold at the revised rates. “We will also ensure that the shops must sell their old stock before they are supplied with new liquor,” he said.Officials clarified that the price of only the brands that are being sourced from the UK through the seaports (bottled in origin that are brought into the country through shipping vessels) would be impacted, while the MRP of the ones that are being bottled in the country (such as Black & White, Justerini & Brooks, Black Dog Black and Gold) would remain unaffected.In 2025-26, Gautam Budh Nagar generated Rs 2,418.5 crore from the sale of 1.08 crore litres of country liquor, 89.8 lakh litres of IMFL and 2.15 crore litres of beer. Ghaziabad collected Rs 1,889.26 crore in excise revenue in the 2025-26 financial year, with country liquor consumption at 2.2 crore litres, followed by beer consumption at 2.1 crore litres and IMFL consumption at 1 crore bottles.
