Madikeri: Heavy showers lashed several parts of Kushalnagar taluk, including Kushalnagar, Kudige and Koodumangaluru, on Thursday, uprooting trees and damaging several houses and crops.A huge tree fell on the Kushalnagar-Harangi road, blocking traffic and damaging electricity poles. Several tree falls were reported in Kudlur, Chikkathuru, Doddathuru, Kudige and Koodumangaluru. A tree also fell on a pickup vehicle parked near the Doddamma Temple in Kudumangalore.Strong winds damaged banana crops spread across several acres within the Kudumangalore gram panchayat limits. The Kudige-Kudumangalore region reported extensive crop damage, causing losses to farmers.Madikeri city saw heavy rain in the evening.eom
