Patna: Revenue and land reforms department secretary Jai Singh on Thursday directed all circle officers (COs) to rectify incomplete and erroneous land records (jamabandis) by Oct 31 and ensure that pending cases do not accumulate.Reviewing the performance of revenue officials from Patna, Bhojpur and Munger districts, Singh said details of incomplete records had already been uploaded to the COs’ login accounts and categorised according to area, khata and khesra numbers. He instructed officials to verify records with original documents and carry out necessary corrections without waiting for applications from landowners.Singh directed revenue personnel to work at the village level under micro-plans, while COs were asked to personally monitor progress. He also ordered officials to expedite mutation in cases involving deceased landholders by obtaining genealogical records (vanshawali) with the help of panchayat representatives and local officials.Where property has not been formally partitioned among heirs, the names of all legal successors should be included in the jamabandi, he said.The secretary further directed officials to accept applications from all eligible landless beneficiaries under the Abhiyan Basera scheme and facilitate online submission through circle offices. Land measurement conducted as part of the campaign will be provided free of cost.He also reviewed mutation, parimarjan, e-measurement, identification of govt land and digitisation of land records, directing officials to complete the scanning of remaining records on priority and ensure daily monitoring of the campaign.
