When asked why the CJP was not waiting for the Supreme Court, where petitions seeking action against Kumar have already been filed, Dipke questioned the court’s handling of issues related to voters in West Bengal.
“The same Supreme Court that didn’t allow lakhs of people to not vote in the Bengal elections, and who said this time if you are not able to vote…. Can do it next time (Isbar vote nahi kar sakte hai toh kaunsi bari baaat hai agli baar vote kar dena). Is that the Supreme Court you are talking about?” Dipke alleged in a press conference in Mumbai.
“The Supreme Court is equally guilty in this,” he added.
Dipke has criticised the Election Commission over its functioning, including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, and has demanded action against Kumar.
