T’puram: Vizhinjam Police on Wednesday arrested Vijayakumar, 41, of Anayara, the alleged mastermind in the Sept 14 seizure of nearly 50g of MDMA near Payarumoodu bypass. He is the third accused in the case.The police said his role emerged during the interrogation of first accused Mujeeb Rahman and analysis of a phone seized from him. The police found Vijayakumar booked a bus ticket for Mujeeb to travel to Bengaluru and allegedly gave him a phone on Sept 11. Mujeeb reached Bengaluru the next day, after which Vijayakumar allegedly transferred about Rs 23,000 to him.The police are checking transactions, Bengaluru links, the drug source and others connected to the network as the probe continues.
