Police investigators said Wednesday that they recovered the remains of four missing crew members of a Russian fishing vessel that caught fire near the Far Eastern Kamchatka peninsula.
The fire erupted Friday evening while the vessel Triumf was sailing in the Pacific Ocean off the eastern coast of Kamchatka.
A total of 29 crew members were on board, and a rescue operation successfully brought 25 sailors to safety. Seven of the injured crew members received medical treatment in the regional capital of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The four remaining sailors were initially listed as missing at sea before they were discovered during an inspection of the charred vessel.
Investigators said they will carry out forensic examinations to identify the remains. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
