Times News NetworkKanpur: Two class 3 students drowned in a water-filled pit in Deipur village of Auraiya Airwakatra area on Tuesday evening, while in a separate incident a 13-year-old boy is missing after drowning in a drain in Rajaram Nagariya.The deceased were identified as Krishna (8), son of Anil Kumar, and Aryan (9), son of Rajiv Kumar. Both studied at a private school in Chapunna, Kannauj.Krishna and Aryan had gone with friends towards Chhibramau Road, where an about 5-foot-deep pit had been dug in Raju Yadav’s field for dumping gravel from trucks. The children entered the water-filled pit to bathe and drowned.Their families began searching for them but about an hour later they found their clothes near the pit. Villagers searched the water and pulled them out. Dial 112 police took them to Community Health Centre Airwakatra, where doctors declared them dead.Bidhuna Circle Officer Puneet Mishra, sub-divisional magistrate Kamal Kumar and police personnel inspected the scene. The families initially opposed the post-mortem examination but agreed after officials persuaded them. Police sent both bodies for post-mortem.Separately, Hari (13) drowned in a drain in Rajaram Nagariya. Local people and police are continuing their search for him, but he has not been traced.
