Patna: Police on Sunday arrested the fourth named accused in connection with a viral video showing a young woman allegedly being assaulted and misbehaved with at Tulsia Halt Railway station under Dighalbank police station area in Kishanganj. The accused, identified as 24-year-old Shahzad of Jagir Dahibhat, was arrested from Dighalbank after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) traced him through technical surveillance. With the latest arrest, all four named accused in the case are now in police custody, officials said.According to police, Shahzad had fled to Gujarat after the incident. Acting on technical inputs, the SIT tracked him down and arrested him after he returned to Jagir Dahibhat.Kishanganj SP Santosh Kumar said, “The incident is around four-five months old. The video went viral around 12.30am on the night of Sept, following which police immediately initiated an investigation. An FIR was registered on the victim’s complaint and an SIT was constituted to identify and arrest those involved.”Three other named accused — Shahzad (21), Minaz alias Salman (22) and Afsar Alam (38) — were arrested on Sept 25 and 26.Police said the investigation is continuing to identify other persons allegedly involved in the incident.The SP added that anyone found to have participated in the offence would face action according to law. Further investigation is being conducted on the basis of the FIR and evidence collected by the SIT.
