Patna: Nearly 4,600 pensioners of MagadhUniversity(MU) are likely to receive their pending dearness allowance (DA) arrears by the end of this month, bringing financial relief ahead of Durga Puja.MU vice-chancellor DilipKumarKeshri said the process of clearing the long-pending dues was underway and necessary steps had been taken to ensure payment within the stipulated timeframe. The release of the DA differential amount would come as a major relief for retired employees before the festive season, he said.The university has already cleared arrears of both serving and retired employees and is continuing efforts to settle its remaining financial liabilities, particularly those related to pensioners. “MU has one of the largest pensioner bases among Bihar’s state universities, making the resolution of their grievances a key priority,” Keshri said.The university administration has also been taking steps to address issues raised by teaching and non-teaching staff, both serving and retired. “The initiative aims to ensure the timely disposal of pending matters and provide relief to university employees,” the VC said.
