Gurgaon: A delivery employee of logistics company Xpressbees allegedly kept 105 high-value shoe and clothing shipments meant to be returned to fashion brand One8, instead of handing them over to the client, causing substantial financial loss to the company/client. The shipments were allegedly taken along with his regular route load and were kept by him instead of being returned through the prescribed process.The employee, identified as Hawa Singh, from Narhera village, was working with Xpressbees as a delivery boy. He was involved in receiving return shipments collected from customers, carrying them safely on his designated route and returning them to clients.According to the complaint submitted by Tilak Raj, an official of Xpressbees, the company’s internal inquiry found that Singh used to carry three to four additional high-value shoe and clothing shipments along with his regular route load. Instead of delivering or returning these shipments to the concerned client as required, he allegedly kept them with himself and misappropriated them. A total of 105 One8 shipments were found missing.“During the inquiry, police issued a notice to the complainant to produce bills of the stolen goods and other evidence. On Sept 22, Tilak Raj produced bills of the stolen goods and CCTV footage stored on a pen drive,” a cop said.After examining the complaint, bills, documents and CCTV footage, SI Ghanshyam found during the inquiry that an offence under Section 306 (theft by a clerk or servant of property in the possession of their master or employer) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita had been committed and registered the case at Bilaspur police station.One8, the sportswear brand co-founded by cricketer Virat Kohli, is currently owned by Agilitas Sports with Kohli continuing as an investor.
