Chennai: CPM state secretary P Shanmugam continued his criticism of the chief minister C Joseph Vijay-led TVK govt’s style of governance, questioning the alleged lack of transparency over the CM’s letter to PM Narendra Modi regarding the operator of Chennai airport. “What is the necessity to hide the letter,” asked Shanmugam in an interview. He questioned the alleged “secrecy” behind the letter requesting Modi hand over the airport administration to a “competent operator other than Airport Authority of India at the earliest”.Shanmugam also appealed to the voters of Madurantakam to defeat former AIADMK MLA Maragatham Kumaravel, saying that she resigned her post for “some political gains” and joined the ruling party. Now, she has been fielded in the same seat. “What she did was unethical and cannot be forgiven. If she is not defeated, it will encourage others to follow the same pattern for their political gains,” he added.
