The feud between Prince William and Prince Harry has played out in public for years, but their uncle Charles Spencer says he has no intention of choosing between the two brothers.
Princess Diana’s younger brother spoke about William and Harry’s strained relationship in a BBC interview released on September 20, as he discussed his new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which was published on September 22.
Asked where he stands amid the brothers’ ongoing rift, Spencer said there is a perception that he supports Harry.
“I think there is a perception in the media that I am on Harry’s side. Well, I’m on my deceased sister’s sons’ side, both of them,” he said.
“And if either of them wanted anything, then I’d be equally there for them. And I never get involved in one camp or the other, except as a benign figure, I hope,” he added.
