Kolkata: The railway authorities arrested two persons and seized more than Rs 90 lakh at Howrah Station in two incidents on Sunday and Monday, prompting tighter vigilance.RPF and GRP officers on Monday spotted a man moving suspiciously on Platform 12. They detained him and found Rs 23.5 lakh in his bag. On questioning, police identified him as Nitesh Kumar Gupta (43), a Dhanbad resident, who had arrived by Gandhidham Express. Police said Gupta failed to produce documents or provide a satisfactory explanation for the cash. Income tax department later took him into custody.A day earlier, the authorities at the station seized nearly Rs 67 lakh unaccounted-for cash from a passenger and arrested him.
