Times News NetworkMangaluru: Educational activist Srinivasan Nandagopal, who travelled across Karnataka to interact with govt-school students, will embark on a nationwide ride to create awareness and raise funds for childhood cancer treatment as part of his school-connect initiative.Titled ‘Dreams on Wheels 2.0’, the expedition will cover more than 30,000 km across over 30 states and Union territories next year. The ride, themed ‘Every Child Deserves a Chance to Heal and Dream’, will be flagged off from Mangaluru on Sept 26.The expedition will pass through Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Hyderabad, Odisha, West Bengal, the northeastern states, north India, western India and central India, before returning to Mangaluru.The initiative will focus on health, education and personality development. Through interactive sessions, Nandagopal will engage students on wellness, hygiene, nutrition, emotional well-being, reading habits, communication skills and career awareness.During the first edition of the initiative, he travelled around 6,500 km across Karnataka and interacted with more than 5,000 govt school students on examination preparedness and career guidance.A key component of the nationwide ride will be public awareness and fundraising for children undergoing cancer treatment. The campaign will be implemented through verified partner organisations and transparent, compliant mechanisms. The initiative will be supported by the Tapasya Foundation, a dedicated centre for childhood cancer and palliative care in Mangaluru.
