Times News NetworkKanpur: A farmer died during treatment on Monday after allegedly being beaten with sticks over a dispute over moving domestic animals from a road in Bidhnu. A case was registered against three named people and an unidentified person.According to police, Jitendra Singh alias Dharma (40), a resident of Dayalpur Kathara village, was taking animals towards his field around noon on Sept 17 when the assault occurred on the road between Dayalpur and Singhpur, according to a complaint lodged by his brother Rajkumar.Rajkumar told the police that Singhpur residents Shiv Balak, Suraj and Makhan alias Abhishek arrived on a motorcycle and honked for Jitendra to move the animals. Jitendra began moving them aside, but the three allegedly abused him.When Jitendra objected, they allegedly surrounded him and beat him with sticks, breaking both his arms and one leg, before fleeing. A villager informed his family, who admitted him to hospital in a critical condition. Doctors declared him dead on Monday morning.Station house officer Tej Bahadur Singh said a case has been registered under sections related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, assault and abuse. Sub-inspector Anurag Singh is investigating, while police are conducting raids to trace the accused.
