Gurgaon: Three people were arrested on Monday after two brothers were allegedly assaulted by them at a society in Sector 50.The incident took place at Deerwood Chase in Nirvana Country at 9.30pm on Sunday following a verbal altercation over a remark about a dog, which escalated into an assault on two brothers — Mohit Mittal and Rahul. Mohit suffered a fracture to his right hand, while Rahul’s medical report recorded pain over the left flank and back and an abrasion on his left shoulder.Based on Mohit’s complaint and the medical examination, a case was registered on Monday under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 117(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 3(5) (common intention) of BNS at Sector 50 police station. The case was registered after the police received information from Artemis Hospital around 4am. Those arrested include Rahul Wahi (39), a resident of Deerwood, Nirvana Country; Devas Gupta (23), a resident of Sector 11, Dwarka; and Hasil Ahuja (23), a resident of Ram Nagar, Delhi. The trio was arrested from Gurgaon.Mohit, who works as a partner with a leading audit firm, alleged he had gone out for a haircut and was returning home when he saw three men standing and smoking near the spot where he was parking his car.Wahi aalegedly told Mittal to “feed the dog”. Mohit asked whether the remark was directed at him, to which Wahi replied that he was speaking to his dog. According to the complaint, Wahi then asked Mohit to step out of his car, following which the three men started assaulting him. Mohit called his brother Rahul for help during the altercation but the three men also assaulted Rahul. The complainant told police that despite repeated pleas from both brothers to stop, the accused continued beating them up.The brothers were taken to the hospital in Sector 51 after the incident. Police reached the hospital and obtained their medico-legal reports. Doctors declared both men fit to give their statements.A police officer said, “The accused were talking among themselves and the complainant misunderstood their conversation as inappropriate remarks directed at him. An altercation followed, after which the accused assaulted the complainant and his brother.” Another officer said police are examining available CCTV footage from the residential complex and other evidence.
