Amravati: In a moment of profound grief, a father from Rahul Nagar, Camp, Amravati, chose to give the gift of sight.15-year-old Gauri Shrikant Dandge passed away, leaving the Dandge family shattered. Even as a mountain of sorrow fell upon them, her father Shrikant Dandge took an extraordinary decision — to donate his daughter’s eyes.The noble procedure was completed at the charitable Disha International Eye Bank, run by Disha Group and Disha Education Foundation.This act of compassion was supported by family members Shrikant Dandge, Sangeeta Wankhade, Satish Dandge, Adv Naresh Paradsinge, and other relatives. All office bearers of Disha Group and Disha International Eye Bank paid heartfelt tribute to Late Gauri Shrikant Dandge. The board of directors expressed deep gratitude to the Dandge family for this sacred act of eye donation.In India, corneal blindness is becoming a serious challenge. One eye donation can restore vision to two blind individuals. Importantly, eye donation is possible even if a person had high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, wore spectacles, or had undergone cataract surgery.
