Thiruvananthapuram: Excise minister M Liju said on Thursday that the excise authorities acted in accordance with law in arresting Reporter TV owner Anto Augustine and added that the action had nothing to do with press freedom.“The law has taken its course. The excise department acted because an offence had been committed. There is nothing in the action that affects media freedom. Govt has no personal enmity towards anyone. When there is a violation of the law, it is natural for a case to be registered,” the minister told reporters.Augustine was arrested by the excise department in connection with the alleged illegal possession of liquor beyond the permitted quantity. The action followed the seizure of a stock of liquor from his house at Vazhavatta in Wayanad.
