Bengaluru: City police will seek legal opinion before considering an investigation into the complaint against BK Hariprasad, president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), for terming imprisoned activist Umar Khalid a “nationalist”.Hariprasad, also a member of the legislative council, told the media Tuesday that opposition parties and ABVP had no moral right to speak on Khalid, “who is a nationalist”. A former student researcher, Khalid has been in prison without trial since Sept 2020 after Delhi police arrested him for his alleged role in planning and executing communal riots.Condemning Hariprasad for his comments, city-based activist Tejas Gowda filed the complaint with Vidhana Soudha police station Wednesday.
