The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has provisionally suspended eight athletes for different anti-doping violations.
Ashu and Kaushal Kumar (all mephentermine), Jujhar Singh (EPO), para-athlete Bhagat Singh (mephentermine, morphine), Baljit Kaur (metenolone, oxandrolone), Nabeel Sahi (mephentermine, 19-norandrosterone), Ravi (mephentermine, meldonium, 19-norandrosterone) and National inter-State bronze medallist in 200m Prakruthi Rupa Rao (stanozolol, drostanolone) have been provisionally suspended for testing positive for banned substances.
Coach Rakesh Kumar has been suspended for life by a NADA disciplinary panel. Sanjana Singh (five years), Sachin Poswal (four years), Seema Punia (two years), Nitesh Poonia (two years), Anjali Kumari (six years) and Shashikesh Kumar (three years) have also got suspensions. International archer Sukhmani Babrekar has been suspended for 18 months.
