Bokaro: Two bike-borne men allegedly snatched a gold chain and pendant worth around Rs 1.5 lakh from a woman in broad daylight in Chas on Tuesday. The incident took place in Kailash Vihar, around 200 metres from Jodhadih More, when Vibha Malakar was returning home after buying vegetables. The two men, who were already waiting on a motorcycle in the lane, turned their bike towards her as she entered the street.According to Malakar, the motorcycle narrowly avoided hitting a wall before the pillion rider snatched the chain from her neck. “The chain weighed around 12 grams and had a pendant attached to it,” she told police. The two men then fled the spot on the motorcycle. ASP Chas Vedant Shanker said, “Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the culprits based on the CCTV footage and other available leads.”
